Founder and writer, VendTop Media
Ibrahim Saleh is a historian and political scientist from Kaduna State, Nigeria. He holds a degree in History from the University of Ibadan and a degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He founded VendTop Media in 2026.
His focus
His work centres on oral history: how communities remember and tell their own origins, and how those accounts compare with written sources. He writes mainly about the origins of Nigerian kingdoms and peoples, boundary and identity questions, and the heritage of communities whose histories have often been told by outsiders.
How he works
Ibrahim relies mostly on accounts told by community members themselves, and reads them alongside published histories, academic research and news reports. Where traditions conflict, he presents each version, says who tells it, and notes what the written evidence supports. His methods are set out in the site's Editorial Policy, and errors are handled under the Corrections Policy.
